Kaworu, the Fifth Child

Well, some of the deck names are bigger than the other ones, your honor...

DeathlyFoiend

Blue Moon isn't Tier 1. Living End is still considered Tier 1.

Kaworu, the Fifth Child

imthelolrus

I feel that Living End has been around a lot longer and is well established at this point.

DeathlyFoiend

Since March 23rd, there have only been two decks on MTGO that have placed in dailies. It isn't even considered a contender in the meta properly because of this. Still only at .05% in the meta. Living End at least placed in 4. One was a Trial, a Premier, A Daily and Decktutor Series. Now, it probably isn't Tier 1 for a long time, but it is actually a deck where as Blue Moon isn't.

Any chance you want to put the average price per deck if someone was looking to buy?

Aladormax

What would like? I can plug in the decks to deck builder if that's needed, and post the listed price with a min/max and average too.

Kaalia with haste

UG infect top 8s a fair amount of the time, actually I think it did pretty well at GP Boston

DeathlyFoiend

One top8. Infect does that, but it isn't consistently on the Top tables and is better in a circulated meta. Infect is still tier 2.

Blue Moon isn't tier 1. Angel Pod should also be up there. Junk isn't a deck archetype in tier 1. It is literally BGx Souls. Junk is a fledged deck that utilizes white, not splashes it.

RUG Delver doesn't put up enough results.
BW Midrange is tier 2
Hatebears is tier 2.

UWR is hardly tier 1 anymore

The main Top tier decks are

Jund, BG Midrange, Affinity, Tempo/RUG Twin, Melira Pod.

The decks that are tier 1.5 are UWR Control, Kiki pod, Angel Pod, GR Tron.

Let's also note the fact that information is being wrongly given here.

Oh, RUG Delver is literally UR Delver+Goyf.
Dead Ale Guy is BW Midrange
Death and Taxes is Hatebears.

Honestly, both of tees lists seem silly. Both modern and legacy can change majorly from tournament to tournament, and the decks themselves have endless variants.
I completely agree with this. It would be better to just post a tier list and keep that updated. Decklists don't help since they aren't consistent, and they only follow the same core. The decklists are played by the people, not by the archetype.

I put the decklist on just so it's easier to see what each deck is and try to keep them updated.  And the reason why I'm heavy on the amount of decks is because the meta changes from tournament to tournament.
The meta does change, but only making tier 1 decks dominant and others not. It is a soccer game between the other top decks against each other. The only deck that isn't like this is Affinity because it doesn't lose to decks, but to cards.

The top decks are always going to be there, but they won't always top.

This isn't legacy where there are a lot more decks and it is a constant rock- paper- scissors for each deck. The format is selective and the decks are already set. Modern is a little more dull in that sense. But the top decks never change, but a deck may make top 8 like Infect and Blood Moon. Doesn't mean that they will become tier 1, they were just good for the tournament
