Lifebane zombie question

Does  {Lifebane Zombie} work against multicolor cards as long as they have white or green in the mana cost.
For instance:
{Blood Baron of Vizkopa}
{Lavinia of the Tenth}
{Armada Wurm}
{Borborygmos Enraged}

Protection will only apply while it is a permanent on the battlefield, otherwise it is just a white/black card.

Then why under the protection rules does it not say that?

Protection is text inside the card box. That text only has an effect when the card is on the field, unless it says otherwise

All of the rules for Protection state "A permanent or player"  since it is neither when it is in your hand, it effectively doesn't have it while not on battlefield.

702.16b A permanent or player with protection can't be targeted by spells...
702.16c A permanent or player with protection can't be enchanted by Auras...
702.16d A permanent with protection can't be equipped by Equipment...
