Let's say the opponent has 1 card in their library. If I make them mill ten, do they lose there on the spot or next turn when they have to draw?

They would not lose until they have to draw a card.

104.3c: If a player is required to draw more cards than are left in his or her library, he or she draws the remaining cards, and then loses the game the next time a player would receive priority. (This is a state-based action. See rule 704.)

Awesome. Thanks and +1

That is interesting.. seems like a downside to milling

MuggyWuggy

I believe that is the point of milling?

Forcing your opponents deck into GY so they lose to draw loss/lack of available answers

Be careful with this. Most of the recent mill cards aren't drawing. Cards like {doorkeeper}, {consuming aberition}, and {mind grind} puts cards or reveals cards, and doesn't cause a player to draw cards.  If an effect like this causes a player to empty his/her library, they won't lose the game until they draw a card, most likely at their next draw phase.
