Should I Open Them?

I'm about to get a Zendikar, Worldwake, and Rize of the Eldrazi booster box. Should I hold on to them or open them?

If you have insight I would also appreciate the reasoning behind it!

Thanks!

That's tough... But don't. You'll get your money's worth if you save then and sell on eBay for 3x the price you bought them at in 5-10 years

Then you'd lose your money anyway because the cards won't be worth anything either :p

All depends on your views. If you sit on the boxes you gain nothing you gain nothing unless they go up in value. If you open them in a draft or play them and continue to play them. To me that's entertainment. So that's at least worth something. So the more you use the cards the more value you get out of them. That's just my view. I see too many (mostly 10-20 year olds) people who crack packs and are only happy if they hit money cards. That's why I try to do drafts and sealed with friends.

If I were you I'd open them. Unless you're in a state where you will definitely need the money, I don't like just sitting on boxes hoping for a price increaae

I think its best to open but thats y fvorite part of the game. Drafting is by farthe most fun ive er had and i miss it, thats what id do personally

imthelolrus

I'd love the chance to draft Zendikar again

If you actually use cards (edh player!), I would open them. I mean, just look at what you plan for. Do you honestly plan on selling them? Then wait a while. But if your priority is building up your collection, open them up!

I always look at selling for later this way:

Is that $300 profit in the future going to buy you as much happiness if you got to enjoy the box yourself

Thanks for all the responses. These three sets are MY FAVORITE!! I don't really like to open packs for money cards, opening packs is like crack for me. On top of that these are my favorite sets!

It's a tough decision, and yes it was about 1600$. But, when life hands you a hobby that makes you feel like a solar volcanic eruption bursting through a 150km asteroid, it makes it worth it. Plus, dying with money is one thing, dying with tons of toys is way more fun.

Would it be worth it to videotape the opening (if I do) for YouTube? I've seen a lot of videos about opening packs and I've never understood the draw to it.

Ok a fun suggestion. Buy 600 sleeves of the same color. Put 12 packs of each in sleeves and you can keep drafting them
