I've been playtesting a bit more and have come to a few conclusions:
1. The Explorer is hella OP for EDH Horde. It allows decks to stabilize too fast for the horde to interact. I think we may have to ban it as a Hero card.
2. Flipping a fixed number of cards is a decent way of doing things, but the original Horde way of flipping until you hit a non-token (in this case, a non-Minotaur) is more unpredictable and generally allows for the horde to swarm at times if it gets too far behind. I haven't tested this method with the full 100 card deck, but it could make for some interesting games, mainly games where the Horde isn't getting curb-stomped all the time.
3. 40 life may be too much. I haven't changed it yet, but there were some games where I stabilized enough to beat the Horde, but if I were at 20 life, I would be dead. The original Horde rules call for 20 collective life, even though it was designed for EDH decks. I'll have to see with coming tests.
