There can't be a return to Zendikar

There was no indication that it was too late. Plus, maybe planes walking can also walk to a time, not just a space. As long as it was chronologically after the last time you visited. So maybe they can arrive just seconds after they left

Sparkle Ninja

I didn't think about that. I like that idea. maybe the set could be called something along the lines of "The Time of Zendikar" or something like that

Also gideon killed emrakul proving that the gods can be beat.

Really? I must have missed that part of the story - how'd he manage to accomplish that? Is there a link to the short story? I'd love to give it a read.

I knew Gideon ended up coming to Ravnica to get more help against the Eldrazi, but I'd never heard anything about Emrakul being dead.
{near-death expeirence} depicts the moment of victory.

That doesn't look like Emarakual on the ground there. Sorry but it really doesn't

Agrus Kos, Enforcer of Truth

To be honest, the storyline is just setting it up too much to not return. Gideon is running around looking for his superfriends and Kiora is looking to find a way to defeat them, so we will most likely see some ultra crazy fight. That plus the economic success of the set and the need to reprint fetches equals a return.

I'll be damned. I wish I knew how he managed that! But that's really neat to know, thanks for teaching me some new lore!

He used his -2: destroy target tapped creature. He had to take the hit to get the openning though.

A quick google search reveals: Gideon didn't kill Emrakul.

"Gideon fought bravely amongst the soldiers of Fort Keff and he alone turned the tide against the brood. A cry of celebration went up, until Emrakul darkened the skies. Gideon told all the beings of the fort to flee, to follow the surrakar to the underground rivers.

Left alone, Gideon simply stared at the titan before him, and desperately, he tried to think of some way to fight the creature before him. Only one solution came to him, and Gideon left to seek the assistance of a group of planeswalkers he had heard rumors about on the plane of Ravnica. (presumably the Infinite Consortium)"

It's an eldrazi spawn I believe. He left to find help to kill emrakul.

Next stop on the Eldrazi tour... The original Phyrexian plane, which they will resurrect Yawgmoth....

I could only wish...

The average spawn is just larger than the average adult. The ones that aren't are man like and not nearly Emrakul's size.

Something interesting I read while looking up Gideon info.

"Gideon heard legends in his travels referencing a large naturally occuring fountain of white mana that took the shape of fire on the plane of Regatha. It was called the Purifying Fire by the Order of Heliud"

A large fountain of white mana, could it be possible that {Heliod, God of the Sun} has been praised for centuries throughout the Multiverse? Maybe with his help three planeswalkers will travel back to Zendikar to save it.

There's a book on that, years before Heliod existed. It's just a natural thing, not man made.

I think the eldrazi are attacking because there a bit disoriented...I think {Icatian crier}'s flavor text best describes what I'm talking about. Maybe at one time, they were peacful beings, but someone tried to use them for evil. Then they were sealed away. And recently brought back, yet no time has passed for them
