{Jace Architect of thought}

Hmmmm.... Anyone notice and differences with Jace...? Like.... Idk.... HIS HAIR COLOR TURNED BROWN.

Is there a storyline explanation for this?

Silent1236

Between Liliana playing him and having to become/get his best friend killed, maybe it is just the MtG way of getting gray hair early?

All planeswalkers today are a joke by comparison to what Urza and them were. Even Karn is weak by comparison to his previous self since he now has venser's spark. The story is just as indepth as ever but is not as glamorized or followed as it was in the days of domineria. Wikipedia actually does a good job of covering the story but if you really want to full thing you have to track down the books which are still printed but often forgotten.

As for OP jace's hair is a dark brown almost black meaning different lightings show different colors this allows the artists a little creativity.

To go deeper into what I said about walkers being weaker they may no longer change their appearance and the world aroud them at will, this is why Nicol Bolas is stuck in dragon form. They are also not immortal but are very difficult to kill. Planeswalkers since the great mending are mere scorcerers with the ability to jump planes though it is incredibly painful for them.

Although powerful, a planeswalker is not necessarily rich...and hair dye is not available from town to town in each ancient plane compared to our worlds cities and "CVS" or "Walgreens".... So he decided to save some money and just not dye it this season.

Plus "Emo" is moving out of fashion.

Didn't Karn have Urza's spark?

Didn't Karn have Urza's spark?
Past tense. He used it to mend the greatest hole in the multiverse and then used the last bit of it's power to return mirrodin before losing it.

{Jace, Memory Adept} is just when Jace was going through his Emo phase and trying to "find" himself...

I thought it was Jeska who mended the worst one...

Yeah. And {Jace, Architect of Thought} is his serious singer/songwriter/acoustic guitar playing phase.

And the Jace Architect from the Duel Decks is when he decides that he wants to do some experimentation :P

I'm getting a serious "fatherhood Jace" vibe from that one. He's totally got a dad-cut.

On the topic of the new crappy Spark, isn't Nicol Bolas trying to find a way to restore the Urza Spark?

If so, does he realise how stupid that is? I mean, he's powerful now, sure. And only Ajani could defeat him. But if he gets the Urza Spark, wouldn't each other Planeswalker also get it? And then effectively squash Bolas as a Planeswalker Collective?
Or would they try and deal with that mess on Zendikar first..?

I guess you need animal instincts to beat a dragon!

I always find that funny.  Only ajani could beat bolas.  Wtf?  Ajani?  Powerful?  Hah, that's a good one.  (That was strictly based off of the power of the actuall cards)
??? Ajani is powerful, just not the best.

Kaleo42

Ajani has a deep seeded hatred for Bolas who instigated the death of Ajani's brother. Ajani wove a spell to trap bolas in his own realm while the others kept him occupied.

Ajani Vengeant is one of the top five planeswalkers of all time based on a playability standpoint.
I'm not alone in my reasoning, horray! :)
