Is karma broken?

People just give me bad karma for nothing. I am confused.
Is the karma system broken?

I got bad karma for posting this:
Hey guys and gals. What creature would you like to see into a planeswalker? For ex.  Venser, Shaper Savant into  Venser, the Sojourner
Or even a planeswalker into a god?
For example  Xenagos, the Reveler into a god in born into gods?


How is this bad?

Sometimes accidents happen and not even noticing it(accidentally hitting the neg). Just bear with it for a few weeks.

Some people are just stupid or annoyed because of other things (job, family, ect.) and take it out on others. Trading on here has a little to do with karma, but a lot of times it just about trade experience. You can have -100 karma and still be a perfect trader, but a jerk on the forums. On the other hand, you could talk smoothly on the forums and have 100 karma, but rip people off. The best thing to do is check the "Trusted Traders" or "Trusted Traders by #" threads in the Trade section. That's how you know who is responsible and has traded before. As a newby, your best bet if you want to start trading is to find a mod or someone who has a lot of successful trades and see if you can work something out. They will most likely ask you to send first, because you are new, but if they are a Trusted Trader, it should go over fine. If it helps, here is a +1, we have all been in your position before.

I've gotten -1 on multiple occasions. One example is when I said that I'm not going to play {Telepathy} in EDH because it's not fun for anyone else. Specifically because you can't strategize anymore, and because it's really annoying to play with your hand on the table.

Just roll with it, and don't let people get under your skin. +1 on your Doctor Who post though. =P

As one of the lower karma people of this forum I'd like to say being neg sucks ,but if you try to be a positive member of the community the +1s will come. Don't be worried about being negged. Earn your number and know when to right your wrongs.

Just roll with the negative punches, I was stuck around -3 to -1 for a long while when I first joined this community, and I still get neg'd for the silliest things, posting about being interested in a trade, speaking my mind, etc.  You're not going to have everyone like what you have to say, but that's the beauty of it, we're all so diverse and are entitled to our own opinions. You'll be fine 😁
