It seems like if people are allowed to lie about their role than someone who is mafia who was lynched will just say they were towns person and we will never know if we were right. And whoever was responsible for that person's death will get picked out as mafia, so in my personal opinion we shouldn't be allowed to lie...though it could make the game interesting.
