Blue is like ketchup, not so great alone but a great addition on other things. Try UR, which is Blue red.

On a budget version probably like $10 I'll make a budget deck list that you can mold the potential deck after.

I bought two pokemon decks to play with my nephew and did not like it all and I don't think he did either definitely would have gave up on tcgs if that had been my first one

You can get a pro level deck for that. I have a nice blue black control that I'll sell you. It's a little on the hard side to play but so fun. Pm me of you want to deal.

In today's meta you will be better off with a dual color deck over a mono colored deck IMO.
