I'm pretty sure the answer is no, but does {Rune-Tail, Kitsune Ascendant}s flipped form protect from boardsweep effects such as {Wrath of God} or {Supreme Verdict}?

No, since wrath of god effects aren't damage, just destroy. It does, however, protect them from damage-based board sweeps, like {Blasphemous Act}!
