Face the Zombie Horde! **ROUND 2**

TURN 2-3

The dark, slow mass in the distance drawing nearer and nearer is an ominous sight indeed. Most of you make your preparations for the battle ahead, strengthening your defenses and calling upon powerful allies.

DimirOverlord finds this strategy to be a bit dull, however. Instead, he leaves your shelter and approaches the army of the dead. His eyes roll back into his head and he taps into ancient and dark forces of a different calling, pitting his knowledge of ancient dark magics against what evil animates the approaching forces. A swinging, indigo void tears open through the air, pulling into it indiscriminately earth and undead alike. By the time the vortex spins closed, and DimirOverlord's pupils return to view, an entire quarter of the black army is gone. Simply pulled into the entropy.

(17 2/2 Zombie Tokens, 2 5/5 Zombie Giants, 2 {Diregraf Captain}s, 2 {Liliana's Reaver}s, {Havengul Runebinder}, {Geralf's Mindcrusher}, and {Unbreathing Horde} milled!)

TURN 4

DimirOverlord returns to the shelter, and comments, "I think I've made them mad!" Sure enough, just behind him, a massive, hulking brute of sagging muscle smashes through the doorway in one furious swipe of it's three arms. It peers it's head inside and shrieks, the skin beneath its nose peeling away to reveal four rattling jawbones. (5/5 Zombie Giant appears!)

Quickly from behind the towering beast, four figures dart towards you. Three of them look pretty normal, aside from clearly being dead. The fourth, however, wears plated steel armor, and thrusts a saber at you that drips some sort of inky gel. (3 2/2 Zombies and a {Diregraf Captain} appear!

Okay, I declare Angelic Skirmisher as a blocker, choosing first strike as the combative ability. She blocks the Diregraf Captain.
I have a damage prevention spell in hand, but not enough mana to cast it!
Taysby, block the Zombie Giant with your Wurmcoil. That's the only way it'll die.

As for the other three zombies, I recommend blocking with the Hedron Crab, a Souls Attendant and a Human token, if there is one. Otherwise, both Attendants. I don't mean to kill your creatures off, but having access to heaps of 4/4 fliers is better, right? Or am I the only one who thinks that?

See I'd block with my crab, but he can mill a whole lot faster than anything else, plus I have something big for next turn

If we just take the 9 damage from the 3/3 tokens, that'll put us a little behind with your ascension, but you have a damage prevention spell or two and I kinda wanna keep my attendants cause they let us gain a bit of life when the horde hits the board.

Then an additional 4 from the two wurms if your wurm coil died.

Thankfully, his Wurmcoil's still kicking. I blocked the Diregraf Captain with my Angelic Skirmisher, having chosen first strike so it's deathtouch couldn't get in. After first strike damage was dealt, all other Zombies lost their +1/+1 from the Captain, making the Zombie Giant a 5/5 again. Wurmcoil's a 6/6, so dead Giant.

I think so. Can someone involved in lifegain track our life total? I really can't be bothered.

I believe we are at 92. We gained 2 life from wurm coil entering the bf, then 10 from the 5 horde creatures, but lost 6 from letting 3 2/2's deal damaged but we gained 6 back when taysby blocked.
