So this is basically mono blue combo/control. The original rough draft had a mindslaver lock, etc, but those were taken out be aide my meta isn't that competitive.


  • Infinite Draw
    - {Azami, Lady of Scrolls} + {Mind Over Matter}
    - {Sensei's Divining Top} + {Helm of Awakening}/{Etherium Sculptor} + {Magus of the Future}/{Future Sight}

  • Infinite Mana
    - {Palinchron} + {High Tide}/{Extraplanar Lens}/{Snowfall}
    - {Sigil Tracer} (and 3 more Wizards)/{Echo Mage} (Highest Level) + {Turnabout}
    Add {Elite Arcanist} or {Kaho, Minamo Historian} to make both these combos a ton more resilient/reusable. Also try {Galvanic Alchemist} to untap infinitely, and with Azami it also draws infinitely. Add any other tap creatures to make those infinite as well, such as {Jace's Archivist}. Both of these also make infinite storm counters, so {Brain Freeze} is a win con.

  • Infinite Negate
    Infinite mana + {Sage of Fables} + {Glen Elendra Archmage}

Double-O-Scotch

I'd run {Arcanis the omnipotent} for even more card draw with {mind over matter}.

I've actually considered him, but I don't think I need him. I think he's win more, plus I can already skip MoM by using infinite mana + {Galvanic Alchemist} or a Top combo. MoM is just the easiest way to combo and draw the deck.

Isn't {Archmage Ascension} a very bad card?
You need 6 turns to get it online!

"At the beginning of each end step," meaning even if it isn't your turn. Azami lets you accomplish this fairly quickly, at which point you just tutor a combo and win.

I'm not so sure about {Patron Wizard} anymore. Is "T: {Force Spike}" really that good in EDH? Yes it's better that it lets me do that with all my wizards, but I typically want to be drawing cards with them. Any opinions on this guy?

After some play testing, I've found that I do like {Patron Wizard}. In some ways more than {Voidmage Prodigy}. I've also made a few changes...
- Enclave Cryptologist
+ Snapcaster Mage
Snapcast all the things with {Riptide Laboratory}!

- Long-Term Plans
+ Echo Mage
I actually didnt notice this wasn't on the original list. It needed to be.

- Faerie Trickery
+ Rewind (signed by my friend who played it in standard. =P)
Because Rewind + {High Tide} is too good to pass up. And because Rewind.

- Lonely Sandbar
+ Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx
Some of these wizards just have an insane amount of devotion, Nythos might as well say T: infinite mana. Considering adding an untap land to the deck.

- Fatestitcher
+ Echoing Truth
Removal > using a tap effect twice in a turn.

 {Minamo, School at Water's Edge} - untaps legendary permanents + doesn't come into play tapped = fun with  {Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx}

I didn't even think about that interaction. I ended up cutting Minamo before I added Nykthos, so it never even occurred to me. Thanks. What do you suggest I cut for it?
Edit: I'm trying not to have too many non-basics because they interfere with most of my mana acceleration. ({Snowfall}, {Extraplanar Lens}, {High Tide})

I would think about cutting  {Ghost Quarter} - because this deck wants to go infinite and/or make big plays using synergy, and it doesn't appear to me (at least at first glance) to do that with the aforementioned ghost quarter. You will also maintain the same land base (actually improving it since  {Minamo, School at Water's Edge} taps for blue in addition to its very relevant ability)

Just my thoughts, I am a huge fan of azami and have had several deck lists for her at various times :) happy brewing :)

You're probably right, but that's also a deterrent for my friend, who runs a deck that's like, 90% lands. His win cons are normally {Maze's End}, {Prismatic Omen} + {Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle}, and either {Thespian's Stage} + {Dark Depths} or his commander, {Progenitus}. Although I suppose I have a million other ways to interact with all of that ({Venser, Shaper Savant} being at the forefront, {Voidmage Husher} being next in line) so I think I'll definitely make that switch. Thanks for the input!

So, I think what's going to happen with this list is I'm going to be cutting a lot of countermagic and adding some "just fun" cards, because my EDH meta really isn't this competitive. Anyone have suggestions for fun cards? {Spelltwine} is at the top of my list right now.
