Relationships are wonderful, be they platonic, romantic, or otherwise. I remember how big of a dork I was in high school, as well as being painfully shy (college cured these for the most part); so if a guy asked me to prom, I would have been over the moon! Definitely dote on her; she'll love that

Go into the relationship as if you don't need to go into it. Enjoy being with the other person like you would any other friend. Figure out why you want them as you explore the friendship.
