Damned Diregraf Captain

My friend is playing with a zombie deck, and I had a question about Diregraf Captain - if I kill the cap'n, will the +1/+1 counters on each zombie go away as well?

It's not counters, just a bonus. So yea

Also, when the Diregraf Captain dies, you don't lose one life because a zombie died. It has to be other than him. I thought he might try to BS that onto you too, it has been tried on me.

Tho if they have two of them, you loose one for each if you kill a minion zombie or just one for a captain.
