so lets say i have two creatures
{favored hoplite} and {precinct captain}
and neither have any +1 +1 counters
can I still play {bioshift} targeting the {favored hoplite} first
it gets a counter before i have to select the counters to move? so i could take that and put it on the precinct captain because his effect would happen before bioshift resolves?

I believe so. Because {Bioshift} says "any number of" and the Gatherer ruling says "1/24/2013    You decide how many counters to move when Bioshift resolves." you would be able to target a heroic creature, its Heroic triggers and then you choose how many counters to move.

Giggle the Draco Genius

Yes you can do this, the spell in itself does not require a +1/+1 counter to be on the target an in the card ruling you choose the number on resolution.  Great synergy you found there

Giggle the Draco Genius

Noble that sounds pretty legit. I like where your head is at. Yes that is how it would work. Put that bio shift to work

Wally

For green guys its probably easier to play  {Common Bond}

For white guys try using {Phalanx Leader} with your bioshifting madness

I also like {Martial Glory} in my boros deck

early game my idea is to save creatures from burn so here was what i was thinking,

they play {anger of the gods} on their turn three

this works incredibly well with {favored hoplite}

so i have him and either {battlewise hoplite} or {fabled hero} because the "prevent damage" would trigger on the hoplite so he wouldnt need the counters, you could then throw them on either one of the others making thier toughness 4 just out of range
unfortunately this wouldn't work with {phalanx leader} unless he had a counter already, and aggressively, you could pull some blocker shenanigans with everyone.

Why not drop bio in a mono green?

I agree, I use bio in mine and with {reverent hunter} and so on its a bomb, even transferring counters onto {Nylea, God of the Hunt} and swinging, so many combinations
I'd like to point out that {Bioshift}+{Wild Beastmaster} is an amazing combo. Because {Bioshift} is an instant you can use it as a combat trick to win easily.

But wild beast master doesn't get counter so you can't move them....

Bioshift allows you to move counters. It doesn't matter if the creature can normally get counters or not.

This would work with phalanx leader. Bioshift targeting favored hoplite and phalanx leader. Heroic triggers on hoplite giving him a counter and preventing damage. Heroic triggers on phalanx leader puting a 1/1 counter on both him and the hoplite. Then bio shift resolves move two counters from hoplite to leader giving the leader 3 counters and making him a 4/4.

whoa wait so your telling me {bioshift} targets both creatures at the same time before counters are moved! i thought it was one at a time! no way thats silly!!!

MementoMori

Of course it does. You declare your targets when you cast the spell.

Bop

I played a deck based on this interaction last Friday. If you bioshift targeting  {Centaur Battlemaster} and  {Corpsejack Menace} then the centaur gets SIX counters and then when you move them onto the Corpsejack they are doubled again to 12! For 1 mana. I lost pretty hard because it was so fragile to set up but there were a few games where I swung for 18 on turn 6 out of nowhere.
