Returning to kamigawa is possible

After listening to MaRo's podcast, and after some thought. I think a return to kamigawa is definitely possible. The cards that care about spirits arnt parasitic anymore, because there are lots of spirits now. The only thing parasitic in kamigawa now is arcane. And with a little inginuity, i think that can be remedied...maybe a card that makes all instants/sorceries you sat arcane? That way, you can splice with any instant or sorcery.

What else was there? Samurai? And cards that cared about them? Hmmm...if we return to Lorwyn, they can make a card that makes a creature the creature type of your choice till the end of the turn. They'd also have to make a card/s that cared about the number of a certain creature type being on the battlefield (under any player)

Other than that, find another world were they can put samurai. Or make a card that makes samurai tokens?

What are everyone's thoughts about what needs to happen before a return to kamigawa?

MaRo, on Blogatog, seems very skeptical about returning to kamigawa. I am a HUGE advocate of it, mostly because it was one of my first sets and...well...NINJITSU AND BUSHIDO!. From what I can glean from him, a return to kamigawa with the plane being destroyed by a villain (Nicol Bolas, Phyrexians, Eldrazi,...) could happen in the next decade but a flat out return to Kamigawa would be very unlikely.

I hope they don't go back. Japanese culture doesn't interest me the much, and isn't YuGiOh already about that type of thing?

I wouldn't mind a return to Kamigawa eventually, but not any time soon. It was pretty heavy on enchantments, and with Theros now, two enchantment blocks near each other would be... Quite bad.

But the moonfolk, spirits, elementals, and best of all, the arcane spells, would have serious fun potential if brought up to current meta power levels (Kamigawa was notoriously underpowered as a block).

They'll return there one day, for sure. They wouldn't have made {Tamiyo, the Moon Sage} if they hadn't wanted to keep it as a possibility. But as much as I'm an advocate for for, it won't happen for AAAGES unfortunately.

Yes, but people would be more interested if one of the well-known villains like the Eldrazi were to attack it.

Not unless it's changed alot in the year I haven't played... There were very very few japanese based cards in that...

Oh. I've never played it before or watched the show. I thought it was about Dragon's and other mythical Japanese creatures fighting.
