What commander deck should I make?

I want to make a commander deck but don't know which one to make.  What are fun ones to play that still win a lot?

Ultimately this. The best place to start is to either pick a color scheme, or skip that step and pick a commander that sounds fun (which will pick your color scheme for you if you do).

In card database, run under the following filters:

Search: "Legendary"
Types selected,
Name & Text unselected

Color: (choose color scheme if you want a certain one and select "match colors exactly")
Or
Color: (Leave blank or pick a color you want in the deck, and do NOT select match exactly)

Type drop-down: Creature


This should show you all legendary creatures, filtered to your color preferences. I've spent a lot of time browsing them, looking for possible commanders to build around that resonate with me.

I enjoy playing with my doran the siege tower deck of my pheldigrif (I butchered that name) group hug deck

Tribal Treefolk with {Doran, the Siege Tower} is always fun and if you google {Pheldagrif} EDH, plenty of ideas pop up. And honestly, if you love those two, then I'd start out with those because EDH is all about fun times and the cards you love.

For example, I love Elesh Norn & Oliva Voldaren....therefore, I created a storyline with Elesh that was kind of Silent Hill styled, and I built a Tribal Vampire with Olivia that rocks my soul.
