If J have {Rest In Peace}, and cast something like {Thought Dvour}, won't they lose because they need to put three into their graveyard, but those three are never put into their graveyard?

Wow is this real? Someone please confirm

Double-O-Scotch

Rest in peace is a replacement effect. {Thoughtscour} will simply put two cards into the graveyard, rest in peace triggers, they get exiled. Nuff said. It's not a replacement or substitute for the {helm of obedience} combo.

Double-O-Scotch

The reason helm works is because of the way it's worded. "Put cards into the graveyard until X is achieved..." And because of rest in peace, X is never achieved so the whole deck gets milled/exiled. Thoughtscour isn't worded that way and because of that, it doesn't work.

Why bot? They never get put into a graveyard. It's like countering {Kozilrk, Butcher of Trith}

If it said "put cards from the top of the library into the graveyard until 2 cards are put into your graveyard" then it would work. But thankfully, that's not the case.

Would  {Mind Grind} work?

Spikepit

Essentially, this crazy no-more-deck, milled-to-death combo will only work if the milling card has the sequence of words "until X cards are put into a/that/their graveyard" because the moment a card hits the graveyard with {Rest in Peace} in play, it disappears. Therefore, X is never actually reached while still trying to reach it.

And to my knowledge, {Helm of Obediance} is the only one that says so (however, I can already feel you all search for others to prove your dominance of the game over this knows-little-player 😜)

What about  {Mind Funeral}?

Edit: never mind I got over excited lol
