I have this land card that can be tapped to become any land. I also have some creatures that become more powerful from a specific land, like Flinthoof Boar and Arctic Aven, as well as a few others. So my question is, if I tap that land card, say as a Mountain, will Flinthoof Boar get more powerful?

Yes, if the land works as you say it does, it becomes a mountain so you boar gets the bonus. To make sure could you tell us exactly what land it is, to be sure.

If your question is whether or not {Flinthoof Boar} gets more powerful every time you get another mountain, the answer is no. So if you have a mountain, two mountains, or five, flinthoof will still be a 3/3.

Tapping a {command tower} (for example) for a {R} does not mean it is a {mountain}. It is simply a {command tower} adding a {R} mana to your mana pool.  Just because a land can make a certain colour does not mean it becomes a basic land of the corresponding type.
