It'll drop my guess.  Seeing as the core set is continually printed throughout the time it is in standard.  Unlike the blocks.  They also have the deck builder kit thing that will keep it out there.

I don't know. I could see it seeing quite a lot of play. Having a vanilla 2/2 manland is awesome in any format. Then you have things like {Xathrid Necromancer} and other "tribal" cards that could push it further. Seems pretty sweet.
