Over the last 8 months I gotten really into Magic, found which formats I enjoy most and what color combinations I prefer playing with. Problem is with hobbies like this and a disposable income is you acquire more than you need and soon you look around your home and realize: you have a lot of paper everywhere and unfortunately it's not disposable income...yet

Fortunately I've had some good pulls and haven't traded away everything worth something that I don't play with. I've tried selling my bulk locally only to be offered such a low rate I would prefer to keep the cards. Seriously $30 for a collection of 3000 cards? You might as well keep the materials for an art display one day.

Selling individual cards only gets you so much and you end up still having 2900 cards after your bullets are sold.

So now what? Repacks! We've read about them, we've seen them on eBay and may have become skeptical. "why would someone send a valuable card out in a repack?" Simple reasons: you want your whole collection to sell.

You could be dishonest and never pack them with something decent, but with results like this, no one will ever buy from you again. The guy who got my Plateau in a previous repack was so happy with a previous purchase through me, he went ahead and purchased a large amount from this round I just released.

Now I've gone 3 rounds selling repacks. Once in Feb, once in May after DGM and now once again for 4th of July. Drafting and buying boxes for new sets cause you to acquire alot of cards fast.

This 3rd round has been the best, 2 days in and I've sold over 40 packs at a fair rate for myself.

Now what's in my repacks? Well I pulled a Tarmogoyf from MM and have an extra sliver queen and Voice of resurgence and then some...

Now I could sell those individually and come up $180-$210 easily. I've chosen to repack them instead. Including those items have definitely helped the sales. It's definitely worth it too.

Now my total return on all repacks have turned from around $250 to $750 adjusting my prices from my previous ones to slightly higher, due to actual value of pool and including shipping for free (HUGE HELPER FOR EBAY).

So taking the value of what I can receive for my money cards and what I could get for repacks with bulk cards (was selling at $1.25 per pack w shipping) is around $400-$500, selling them together has brought me a good amount of extra profit, & I no longer have to hustle individual cards. Packs are sitting in a box ready to ship. My decks have been made & I prefer limited so this turns out to be a great way to get rid of my collection.

Repacks are great for buyers too not just sellers

Those trying to acquire cards for completing sets can quickly get items from the last 20 years instead of shopping specifically for certain sets. Buying repacks are cheaper than buying brand new boosters too. Especially if you are looking for cards from many different sets.

Contents of repacks will vary, so I try to keep it as close to a real sealed booster pack as possible:

15 Cards
10 common
3 uncommon
1rare or mythic
1 bonus card (non basic land/non token)

I've seen some that only offer 5 cards for $1.50, no commons only 1 rare and 4 Uncommons.

So ask yourself what you would prefer getting, maybe your repacks are just rares or foils etc. be creative in offers for buyers, make them feel they are getting a deal, because they are! You had to spend the retail price to get the cards, let them be stoked you have a huge card pool you're getting rid of. Repeat customers are best for successful business cat.
