Assigning damage

If a 2/3 and a 4/3 block my 3/3 can I assign the damage to the 4/3 even though my friend declared the 2/3 is blocking first? He think I have to assign damage in order of blockers. Thanks

Yes, attacker assign the order of blockers, defender assign the blocking creatures to block a particular creature. You are right.

When multi-blocking, attacker must declare order of blocking creatures to the attacking creature the damage goes to. So you must put the order as the 4/3 first before you can achieve your objective.
