What does the little gravestone next to the title of {Call of the Herd} mean?
Does that mean it has flashback?

scarsabrex

Interesting find, I'll go ahead and say yes because I couldn't find other cards without flashback that had the gravestone, note in newer printings you won't see theses anymore.

What Taysby said. You'll notice the cards that do have that symbol all have some kind of function when it's in the graveyard and is not limited to just cards with flashback. {Glory} is a quick example of this.

Des anyone know why exactly wizards stopped putting it on cards?
I think mainly because it didn't serve much of a purpose. The cards still had the Flashback keyword on them, so it didn't really do all that much, outside of making it easier to spot. I think it's pretty cool, but Wizards likely saw it as a waste of ink (as little as it is).

Are there any other cards without flashback that has this or any other little thing that was discontinued.
What about a sword and shield next to PT?

RayZoh

The sword and shield next to P/T was exclusive to the three Portal sets which were designed to teach new players how to play. Even though I've been playing since Ice Age, I had no idea how combat worked until Portal came out a couple years later so I remember the sword and shield helping me learn. I also remember getting power and toughness confused afterwards on non-Portal cards for awhile because they didn't have the sword and shield on them.
