If I attack with my {notion thief} while I have {whispering madness} ciphered on it and my opponent lets it go through, do they have a chance to respond to the whispering madness trigger on the stack after damage?

I would think so, since the copy of whispering madness would still need to resolve the next time a player receives priority. So once you pass priority, he can cast instants-speed spells from his current hand before madness resolves.

^ This right here. Whenever something triggers, people have a chance to respond to it before it resolves and goes off.

Yeah that makes sense, unfortunately for me, thanks

But still, most if the time you get both of your cards.

Yeah it's just I have to main board {dispels} to make sure the combo goes off and I have enough mana to counter anything
