Are fetches only good because they thin out your deck?

They grab almost any shockland (in some decks, the right fetches grab them all), they put lands in the graveyard, (which is important for {Tarmogoyf} and {Knight of the Reliquary}) they they trigger landfall twice, and yes, they thin out your deck.

I'd really like to play  {Countryside Crusher} and I know he's getting reprinted in Modern Masters, but he just feels not quite good enough haha. I don't know.

{eternal witness} (also in MM) makes him pretty darn good.

Last rare was spoiled (I believe, don't quote me on that). Looks like we won't be getting  {Thoughtseize} or  {Noble Hierarch} I was hoping for at least one of those...

Based on the cards they've choosen to reprint, one is lead to believe that the staples they missed ({Damnation}, {Thoughtseize}, {Noble Hierarch}) would lead me to believe a reprint is on the horizon.

Strictly speaking, a "Modern staples" set should indeed contain Shocklands, but they were very recently reprinted. So I believe those cards are vacant for a very specific reason.

Totally agree, wizards has other plans but I would have loved to pick up a few right now. I think it's safe to say they understand the demand for a set like this.

My friend an I were discussing {Thoughtseize} in Standard. It's very possible we'll return to Lorwyn/Eventide on the next "Return" block. So after Theros.

I don't think it's that weird. They're probably going to make this an annual (or bi-annual) thing, and need some clutch cards for next year.

Yeah, I saw! Very pleased with  {Paradise Mantle} the new artwork for  {Engineered Explosives} is cool too.

Probably awful odds of even pulling a regular. Moneekah and I have 3 boxes to open after the 7th we can let everyone know what we pull from each box. :3
