And cipher you "attach" it to another card and when it does damage you make a copy of the encoded card to use again without paying mana?

Note: combat damage, not just any damage. But basically you got the idea.

So if the stalker dies for any reason, the encoding disappears. If you bring it back from the graveyard to battlefield, it has no memory of that encoded card.

Any new question you can open another thread since it's now deviating from lifelink. Lol

Of note for cipher:  it's combat damage to a player. If your ciphered creature attacks and is blocked, the ciphered spell won't cast (trample is an exception).
