So I know this may offend people but it shouldn't. It's simply my opinion.
I am sick of all the "Classifications" of different kinds of people.
Oh you have glasses?
Nerd.
Oh you wear heavy black boots?
Goth.
Oh you have colorful hair?
Hipster
Oh you wear a backwards baseball cap?
Swag f**
On and so forth.
Anyways! It just annoys me that there are SO many different ways to divide people when many of these assumptions are false and based on nothing. It's just how "Society" (or the foolish individuals that opinions somehow count as "Society")
Pictures these people.
I get sick of it.
Now am I saying I'm not guilty of it?
No. I have seen a quiet girl with long black hair and considered she might be emotionally distressed (emo) but like. Seeing it happen to people who already get enough grievances out of their daily lives such as personal home problems, financial issues, etc. it makes me sick that people can find just so many ways to annoy each other.
Moral of this is.
People. You don't know people.
Stop judging.

I concur. There is something wrong. I hate it too. I do it too. But there is no way to fix this except by first making the change in yourself. It will be evident to others that you are different.

Destore117

Changing yourselves isn't the problem. It's thinking about what you're about to call/refer to/classify that person as before you do it.
And to be honest because I'm a nervous semi shut in. I don't talk to enough people to judge them. The only people I truly judge are those annoying boisterous louts who think they have the right to whatever they lay their eyes on.

The1337Magician

I think that is the majority of the population of 1st world countries.

Sigh filled agreement
I don't understand what brain cell or DNA strand fell off in my (1997 and beyond) generation that has made everyone so...so...I want to say stu pid but to be respectful we shall say "immature"
P.S not everyone in 1997- is bad. Just most people I have met are just truly worthless individuals.

That's a bold statement coming from someone who says they hate classification  ;)

every single one of us is prejudice to some degree, my generation needs to learn to respect others and think before speaking (1998 kid here) but all you can really do is change the way you do things, and become a positive influence in others.

Im just sick of the way some of the younger generations are acting.  Where's the decency?  If I had said .poo. in front of my parents when I was 12, Id have been grounded for a ridiculously long time. It amazes me how many kids are allowed to swear in front of their parents. On top of that is pregnancy and drugs.  We had a sixth grader get pregnant. How is that even physically possible??  And seeing all these kids start smoking and doing drugs is awful.

Generally, I hate stupid Internet things, but those things that say something along the lines of "When I was a kid, I played NES, not get drunk" are really true .

I'm not entirely sure where this came from and I don't think it had anything to do with the OP, but there's my 2 cents on that.

I feel you^
I would have my arse handed to me if I said something to my parents like that, I surround myself with friends who think like I do, so I'm not quite as pressured by culture as others are, but my generation fails on an epic scale it seems.

It is quite sad how the next generation is coming up. Just think about. Those are the people that will inherit the world. Scary thought. I remember I tried back talking my momma once. Never did it again ill tell you that. Society is so against disciplining your children these days that we get these snotty little brats. My daughter will be three soon and she already knows thank you, please and your welcome. And if she isn't polite guess what?! She gets in trouble. I just don't understand why teaching manners to your children is difficult.

Totally agree with this, but what's worse than a bratty kid? Those bad parents out there that think the aforementioned horrible child is perfect and can do no wrong (a certain relative of mine is guilty of this) like really, teach your kid manners and respect, that's how I was raised and that's how I'm going to raise my kids someday

Gorzo

I'm glad to see more people showing concern over this kind of stuff.

First, to the OP, I couldn't agree more that blanket judgements and assumptions are incredibly damaging. This is what I struggle with the most when I try to read debate threads - blanket statements. Life doesn't work out that way, and trying to fit every puzzle piece into the same spot only jumbles up the board even worse. I try to get to encourage people to avoid bundling things together, especially people, into groups. We are all 100% unique individuals, and our situations equally diverse. Handle them as needed!

As for kids...it does seem like a growing problem. I recently was playing a game online (I think it was battlefield 3, whatever it was, it was a rather violent shooter, very much rated M) and some 6-8 year old comes on the microphone and start cussing and screaming at everyone. Dropping more F-Bombs than I say in a month, saying words I didn't learn until I was 16 and still to this day prefer not to say. All I can think is "Where the hell are this kid's parents?" So I ask. "My mom is right here, you f***** f** piece of s***" he replies. I am dumbfounded.

There really should be a better requirement for having children than sex. Because there a pretty good number of unfit parents out there, and without proper parenting, these kids are doomed.

Raiderrob

Frankly I'm scared of all the crap that is out there to influence kids these days. I'm trying hard to raise my two kids to be decent, honest, thinking individuals that won't be sucked into all of the bs that alot of kids are getting into these days, but who knows what they are being shown at school by other kids? Im especially scared for my daughter because it seems like the women out there that young girls are looking up to like ke$ha, are putting out the wrong kind of message. Any other parents out there with these type of worries?

The1337Magician

Well, I'm not a parent. Not even close. But I still think that many kids are unfit for the world. We'll just have a bunch of twenty year olds living in their parents' basement and cussing into a mic at the most recent CoD game. Even there, their parents don't care.
Is it education or parenting or media or just life.

I never said it was above classification
I just said I dislike it.
