suppose I can

I've thought about using it with  {Birthing Pod}

Falcon182

It's still not good. The only way its good is as a 2/2 for {U} which is its morph cost right? I mean by the time you add all the buffs to it you're sill looking at a huge cmc that you would be better off using for a creature that does something.

MisterJH

A turn 4 {birthing pod} into a 9 CMC creature seems pretty good

How would that line of play go?

Turn 1: land
Turn 2: land, mana dork
Turn 3: land, {Scornful Egotist} (paid for by {3}) then morph for {U}
Turn 4:  {Birthing Pod}, sac, find cmc 9 creature, put into play.

{Reya Dawnbringer} for example. Lol

Turn 3: land, {Scornful Egotist} (paid for by {3}) then morph for {B}
Turn 4:  {Birthing Pod}, sac, find cmc 9 creature, put into play.

{Artisan of Kozilek} {Blazing Archon} {Zodiac Dragon} {Inkwell Leviathan}

Etc etc, not so bad for turn 4 huh

The data base must be incomplete. Proof?

{1996 world champion}

So just because it isn't in the data base doesn't mean it doesn't exist
That dosent seem bad at all pro blac and red protects it from alot of removal and the life gain for ANY creature that hits the field yours or not is good to me. It has great commander applications. I'd like to trade for one as well!

It's a 1 in 1000 hand but could be good if it comes up.

Wally

Actually its not.

You can do it with 4 land and no mana dork. Its just that most green decks will have some mana acceleration played turn 1 or 2. I said 3 land because that is the most common keep. 2 or 3 lands.

so opening hand you will need to see a birthing pod, and the morph creature. Most green decks should have at least four mana sources for turn 4, if not more..
Thats naming 6 out of 7 cards, so by no means a hard thing to pull off. Even if its a turn or two later (which rapidly increase the odds of seeing these cards) it would still be a crazy swing in board presence.

Agree but at that point just play {elvish piper}
Or {quicksilver amulet} and build around one of them instead and put in a card that's not going to be a dead creature draw under any other condition except with pod.
