Mono red burn deck

Hello I recently started magic and for 23 bucks a card shop guy hooked me up with a mono red burn deck that had 
22 basic lands
3  {Curse of Stalked Prey}
1   {Volcanic Strength}
4  {Brimstone Volley}
3.  {Annihilating Fire}
4   {Pillar of Flame}
4    {Lightning Mauler}
4.   {Pyreheart Wolf}
4  {Goblin Arsonist}
4    {Stonewright}
4   {Ashmouth Hound}
3.  {Archwing Dragon}
He said it was a budget build and needed some improvement but was a good beginner deck. I'm going to replace the annihilating fires with searing spears and the goblin arsonists with vexing devils soon. What else could Improve?

Yeah, there's no money cards in here, and I can't see it being very competitive

The only kind of mono red deck I really see working are mono red aggro decks

There are no real "wow" cards in the deck, but it should do okay (not a top tier deck).  There is enough there to be consistent.

Yeah its not really all that bad it does what RDW should do and improvements can be made but for a beginner this deck is worth 23 bucks which is a weird number why not 20 or 25
