How exactly do auras work with shroud and targeting?

Thanks.

Keyeto

Auras target, and are subject to immunities that protect against targeting, like shroud.

Kaleo42

Unless an ability "puts" them into play such as {sun titan}.

So how does Zur work then?

Stoneco1d869

I mean can you add auras to it if Zur has shroud?

Yep! Zur gets around shroud, whether its on himself or other permanents.

So even if he has shroud, I can choose to have an aura enchant him assuming its attached after searching my deck?

But I could not play an aura from my hand if Zur has shroud, at least not on him.?

Correct. Auras that are cast have a target. When Zur just "puts them into play", the aura has to attach to something, provided there's a legal target. This process doesn't target anything, and gets around shroud. It's a nasty abuse of the rules, but it works!

Ok. Last ?. What if there is another legal target, can I still choose Zur??

Can't target a creature with Shroud, neither you nor your opponent.

Ok so if I pull  {Journey to Nowhere} with Zur could I target  {Animar, Soul of Elements}?

No journey is not an aura. It has a targeting etb effect.
