I hate net-decks (clearly).  And community decks, people just lost intrest in.  So why would I stick around standard for now?  Because there are some odd cards nobody, and I mean NOBODY! Are using.  So I want to make a cool weekly-biweekly thing as to where you guys make your own personal decks centered around these odd cards.  So not only will the odd card be included, but it will be the basis of the entire deck.

Rules:
1.  Please when you make this deck, put in the title, "(card of the week's name) deck", or get really creative and fun with the name.  Just include the card of the week's name in the title.

2.  Please, and I cannot stress this ENOUGH.  Do NOT advertise your "odd card" deck on other peoples' post of the "odd card" deck.

3.  Have fun! :). Magic the Gathering was made for fun, so if you make a deck, don't be sad if people think it's bad.  Walk with your head held HIGH! :D

4.  No sideboarding the "odd card," sorry. :/

The reason I chose this card is because it is so out there with it's design.  I would never have thought to put it in any deck.  Which is hard because I usually find use for cards, no matter how bad.  So remember, this deck features, GLOOM SURGEON!  So make it the center of the deck, not just a sideshow.

Easy, any esper control deck. He gets in the way of anything that aggros. Just run a copy of Psychic spiral and mill them to win.

That would help not at all. He exiles cards. Youd just mill yourself silly with no hope of recovery.

The problem also is that gloom surgeon is meant to be a THEME of the deck, not a speedbump for aggro. Whats his role once you stabilize?

That's his only use, he's a useless card except for that. You can't attempt to make a card that only has one purpose useful. Wotc have printed a ton of crap cards, we know it, they know it. Surgeon has a purpose, but that's about it.

Thats the fun of this though, could you maybe, just maybe make him the bomb

That is why he is the odd card of the week.

In all honesty, I'm coming up with cards off the top of my head.  The deck doesnt have to be good you know.  I just want to give a home to homeless creatures.

Pro tour gatecrash spelled out his purpose as an antiaggro blocker. Most red (mono or multi color) aggro cant afford to swing into him since most thier dudes just die to him. A few cards off the top isnt a huge issue when that is the pay off. Certainly this does not work in decks that have specialized lists like esper control or combo decks, but deck that have a general purpose with plenty of wincons love it.

Flashback build with {Runic Repetition} and {Misthollow Griffin}? As stated previously, not every card is built to have a deck around it.

I was talking about how esper contro and combo cant run him safely not playing him against those.

If your really want to build with him btw keep in mind he is a spirit and innistrad block has a spirit tribal sub theme.
