I never know what people mean. I only see what they do and can guess what they mean by this. I realised long time ago that focusing on 'what people mean' is a waste of time in comparison to the other approach.

ELLERfeller

Time is relative can you ever truly waste something that doesn't really exist?

ELLERfeller

All depends on perspective I believe!

Piotr

Yes, you can do things in better order, or skip doing them.

ELLERfeller

But wouldn't that be more of a compression of time for you instead of an interaction like a human should have with another human?

LinkCelestrial

Yes. Alcoholism is a thing. So is being addicted to eating drywall.

LinkCelestrial

The point is, people get addicted to anything. I'm not getting addicted to alcohol, so it's not a issue for me.

Apathy Reactor

It could happen yet, don't tempt fate.

Piotr

Addiction is a form of learning. Of course you are getting addicted to it.

Addiction is not the same as "doing it a lot". There's somewhat more to it than that. There's a list of symptoms, like thinking about doing it while you're not, craving, foregoing obligations, and more. Score three or more symptoms and you're an addict, according to the definition.

Piotr

The definition is not accurate.

ELLERfeller

You can enjoy something without being addicted. I drink a lot but I don't crave nor think about it constantly. I just enjoy the different feelings it brings out and the taste(occasionally) because not all alcoholic drinks taste good!
