What's with the levels? Pretty much the only thing I've heard about the US education system is that their sport-results get them status, rather then their education quality.
(Been a few years since that was said though, and no firsthand experience).

Took 5 college level courses in high school

1000 level classes are basic stuff that bores the professor to death
2000 are the interesting things you learned the basics for that still bores the professor
3000 are the actual classes for learning where the professor works with you on the assignments
4000 are the crazy in depth where the professor is as confused as you are.

Makes sense. Still not sure how a marketing class could be anything over 2000, though. I'd start calling that basic psychology. "Why do people do what they do and how do I abuse that?" Could be the working title...
