I had one coming my way as a part if a trade and the guy pulled the deal with my cards en route when he heard if the change is value. Yuk!

I assumed that the person who was sending the troll didn't yet. I'm surprised that the person receiving the troll would send it back

To the post above

I think pulling out of a trade when a card jumps in value is a douche move. At the end of the day, is a piece of cardboard really worth losing face? If you were willing to trade a  {Thrun, the Last Troll} for an  {Oracle of Mul Daya}, he was obviously worth that to you. Why change your mind the next day?? Seems ridiculous to me.
You knew it was worth more yet you still bought it for less. Is that much different then pulling out of a trade because the value changed?
Its absolutely different. Business is business and in the field of magic where prices fluctuate all the time, stores know that they will sometimes not make full value on certain cards and other times more on others when a price drops but someone bought it higher. Thats a poor analogy. This here is trading among peers and a gentleman's agreement, this is not a business. Trying to pull out after sending cards is foolish and pretty uncool. And as a gentlemans agreement to begin with I see no reason the person on the other end should have to honor their request. Thats the point of a gentlemans agreement. If you dont believe in gentlemans agreements, dont trade here.

When money gets involved its not a gentleman agreement. Who says that everyone here is a player. I'm sure some here have sold cards. As far as being uncool sure I see it but it doesn't surprise me that it happens and will happen again
Its still a gentlemans agreement... Money is irrelevant to that. Gentlemans agreements are based on being honorable and both parties honoring their end of the bargain. If you send your cards youve taken part in the agreement. The other party if they send theirs too, has no obligation to send yours back if you change your mind. That was not part of the agreement.

You can go on all day about it happening and whatnot but thats not the point here. Trading here IS a gentlemans agreement. If people dont understand that, they shouldnt be trading to begin with.

My cards had not yet been sent yet and I agreed to send his cards back to him as soon as they arrived, he hadn't yet received the Thrun. I understand that yes, it sucks, but I'm not asking him to see back cards he had already gotten from me. He lost out on nothing but {Sacred Foundry}s he won't get back for maybe 2 weeks due to him being in Canada.

I understand what happened, but dont see that as being right in any way. If you agreed to the trade, you should make good on it. Thats how I see it.
