A friend of mine just gave me an Izzet vs Golgari duel deck. {Eternal witness}, {life from the loam}, and {isochron scepter} alone are worth the price of admission. Now ill have a couple easy-to-play decks that I can play with my wife with.

I ended up buying a second copy of that duel deck because of those cards, and some of the other Golgari deck cards like {Doomgape} and {Gleancrawler}. Made a multiplayer-tailored dredge deck using many of the cards.

And, well, the alternate art {brainstorm}s were a nice bonus

How much is the duel deck? I'm now realizing I can use most of the cards for EDH XD

They retail for $20 at Walmart/Target. They're definitely worth it. A few of the cards I can use in my {astral slide} deck and when I *eventually* build a dredge deck, ill have some cards to help out with that too.

So I've been playin these decks for a few days now, and holy cannoli is the Golgari waaaayyyy unbalanced compared to the Izzet deck. It's insanity that they put a bunch of dredge cards in it and the best the Izzet got was replicate. If you have a {life from the loam} and {barren moor}/{tranquil thicket} in the GY, that's it. Game over.

Hah, yeah, if you play the decks out of the box, izzet gets destroyed. Sure, the deck has some good individual cards like {Isocron Scepter} and {Prophetic Bolt}, but nothing that works too well together. I think {Wee Dragonauts} are probably the most useful creature in there.

But Golgari... The whole deck synergizes. And dredge. Lots of dredge. So good.

Depends greatly on whether the meta expects to see it coming.

There are a lot of ways to shut it down but there's nothing like seeing half your library in the GY on T1. Tons o fun.
