Database download issue

I started downloading the offline database and after a day and a half there is no sign of any progress. Actually i would consider it negative progress cause I can't use half the things cause it reminds me that it is still downloading. Is there anyway too stop it and try again or find a way to make it work? I am on the newest iPod touch with iOS 6.1 please help
