What alara shard do you think is most dominant? Why?
Also what alara shard do you think will be most dominant after gatecrash
Personally i think jund currently. Because all the good cards in those colors atm eg {Thragtusk}, {Huntmaster of the fells}, and {Olivia Voldaren} and i still believe it will be most dominant after gc because gruul will be coming out adding to the list of already powerful cards

Coffee Vampire

I think it will be Naya. Naya gets all those cards except olivia...and who needs her when you have access to {Silverblade Paladin}, {Spark Trooper}, {Boros Charm}, {Aurelia's Fury}, etc. I thinm white brings more to the table than black, making naya stronger than jund. Naya will also have the new tutor, (as will jund) {Signal the Clans}. This card wi definitely see play.

In standard I don't think we'll see a shard that dominates over the others. In modern, Jund will obviously still be king imo. Legacy will always be Esper.

Gorzo

I think Esper control will see some standard play thanks to orzhov and Dimir.

And Naya agro will also likely see some action with the old wolf run stuff plus gruul and boros. I mean... {Fencing Ace} + {Madcap Skills}... Plus {Rancor}... Plus {Silver-Inlaid Dagger}. And green can protect it from removal with {Ranger's Guile}. Super risky sure, but that would be a hell of a turn 3/4 swing.

Never played Modern. Just Standard, Casual and a little EDH. Why is it that Jund dominates?

If you look up modern Jund deck lists, you will see that Jund is easily one of the fastest and most aggressive decks in the format, thanks to cards like {Tarmagoyf}, {Dark Confidant}, {Bloodbraid Elf}, {Maelstrom Pulse}, and {Inquisition of Kozeilek}.

2 words, {Bloodbraid Elf}

It's a collection off all the best cards in its colour. It plays really efficient cards and basically had an answer to every deck type, and they all can be cascaded into.
Anytime someone drops a {Bloodbraid Elf}, it basically affects the board state as if someone casting {ancestral recall}, {lava spike}, {black lotus} and a card that says "I win if you don't kill me" or "kill target card that says 'you win if opponent doesnt kill this card'.

There is no real auto-scoop match for it, and the fact that everyone knows it's out there and what cards are in it, yet it still continues to win (from what I see) is a testament to what makes it probably the best 'fair' deck of all time.

It's incredibly frustrating to play against because it has such a perfect engine and guaranteed will have a card in it that just straight up bowls over your deck... And it will cost less than 3 mana to cast, but they'll probably get to cast it for free because they are about to attack you for 3 with their hasty {bloodbraid elf}.
I remember Bloodbraid back in Alara block. Jund is just always extremely solid.
