Each state has its own laws. We're looking at California law here, which has multiple different statutes on its penal code defining grand theft or grand larceny at multiple different amounts. Most commonly around $950-$1000.

He said that his brother was trying to get into standard and had a lot of old cards.  He was suposed to send me 3 {arcbound ravagers}.  I even threw in a freebie for his brother.  I didn't add that to the list that he stole from me, because I gave that to him.  It was that mythic u/w sphynx creature from rtr.
