Not gonna lie I saw this coming I emailed some mods and said something wasn't right and everyone assured me it was fine and he just had alot of cards to trade ๐Ÿ˜‘
Im almost half tempted to use his name and address at spokeo.com just to get his phone number n call him
Do it and call the police too
one of us had to have sent cash ... If you're following. Which would make the police alot more helpful in the matter

Let me know if you guys need me to contact the police also. I'm a minor, but I'm sure there is something I can do.

Have the mods reached anything conclusive?
I'd like to note, if you are going to file for mail fraud:
http://ehome.uspis.gov/fcsexternal/default.aspx

I suggest none of us do this until the mods work out something.

Ill give it another week then ill file for it

Same for me... I'd also like to know if the mods have made a choice as well

Piotr

What choice?

IMtG Law does not have power beyond this forum. If it had, it would be perfectly legal for the victims of this crime to go over his house, take forcefully their cards as restitution and smack his face as retribution.

I'm told the law which governs you says that going over to his house is illegal. Some law.

Well then I just lost a lot of money cards

I've sent a few PMs to people regarding legal stuff. If anyone else needs to know (got ripped off) and did not recieve a pm from me, please send me one and I will send a reply. Thanks.

We do need to focus on ways to prevent this kind of thing from happening again. I'll make a new "making trades safer" thread in suggestions/feedback. I highly encourage input and suggestions from the trading community. I know I speak for all of us mods when I say it really pisses me off to see our community members get screwed over. I don't want it to happen again, you guys don't deserve it.

I think one big way of preventing this is from now any trades that are bigger than like 40 dollars or so needs to have a mod or someone be a middle man. Just a thought.

Couple of suggestions:
If selling cards for cash - post it on eBay. So it can be traced.
Employ middlemen - as per ace's suggestion
Get person to send scans of cards - more as proof they have it.
Draft a contract using a template - something legally binding...

That may be a good idea for large trades ($100+) but for smaller transactions, that would seem like overkill. We also need to keep in mind the ease of trade this forum offers without having to sign a 100 page contract. Of course it will deter the dishonest folks from doing business but it will also discourage casual traders and new people to the forum hoping to get involved. Just my 2ยข.

What do you mean?

What I mean is, I think there should be some precautions taken for larger trades such as a medium and even mailing with tracking (a pretty cheap option when sending) but I don't feel that it should necessarily be a requirement for small to medium value/sized trades. Either way, I have started to send all my trades with tracking numbers for the traders and my security and confidence in trading. I hope I explained that well enough :)
