Opponent Searching My Deck, Tournament Rules, Legality

So, my friend just came to me with what I personally thought to be so retarded, but he said its a tournament rule that my opponant can look through my entire deck before a match, aside from the obvious cocky mentality of "hey this is the combo I'm going to bend u over with" is this stupidity true?

Well ive never heard of it... But i guess it could be... I know they can shuffle all they want but ive never seen nor heard of someone doin this in all seriousness. I allow my friends to mostly because they cant do a damn thing to stop me, but inversely i have never looked through their decks unless they were trading out f them or seeking guidance to stop sucking.

Ya I agree with that sorta .poo. and ppl get to know what u play as u play it, but seeing what someone else has in their deck before playing against them, well ruins the whole point of the game and tournenent in general.....

I absolutely think this is false. If they knew your entire deck, it would allow them to compose a sideboard, heck their whole deck, to be able to defeat yours. I think they're trying to pull one over on you.

You can say no. There's no rule for it, so there's no rule to say you can refuse a opponent looking through your deck. Though it really depends on how dimir someone is

There is nothing in the rule book, or the tournament rule book, saying your opponent can look through your deck when no cards' effect allow him or her to do so. The only person that is able to do that would be the head judge.

Yes you have to have a deck list to present to the organizers to prove your decks legality. No you do not have to show it to your opponent.

This is not a thing. You can not just look at someones deck just because you want to. That is called cheating. As a player you may look at you OWN sideboard at anytime though.

The only time your deck list is given to an other player is during top 8 of tourney's like GP's and pro tours, but you also receive ur opponents deck list as well. Once you turn in your deck list you can not change any card in that list. That includes sideboard. If you do change out for a card that's not in your deck list you will be DQ'ed.

Now if {mindslaver} was used on you, they arent allowed to look through your deck. But they are allowed to look through your sideboard, but nothing else besides your hand. It is never ok to have a player cheat. Anytime an opponent says a ruling, call a judge anyway, ask a judge.
