I kinda like rapid hybridization. Very similar to  {Pongify}, but much, much worse because it doesn't hit non-creatures.

Extort seems awesome for limited, but it's gonna suck for constructed.

You MIGHT be able to make it work in most formats. You would need the RIGHT cards, and the RIGHT support cards. It would take some crazy engeneering to make it work, and might only work in limited and modern though. Possibly vintage/legacy too. Could you pay mulitipule times for the same trigger? If so, play {dark ritual} and turbo extort with mana fixing like that. Also, the one that adds {B} to your mana pool whenever you tap a swamp

I read a DailyMTG article where the said that the Crypt Geist or whatever you are talking about was made so you could cast the extort without having to pay "extra". And no, you can't use it twice with one spell unless you have two cards with Extort.
