I know. I guess not strictly better, but if I were playing burn and I could only choose one, I would pick {Skullcrack} any day in this kind of meta. It can be really good for red decks against  {Thragtusk} and all he other crazy lifegain in standard. Thragtusk is usually a 3 or 4 for 1, whilethis will reduce it to a 1 or 2 for 1.

This card is NUTS. This will see serious modern and standard play. I love this card. I just don't like that it is a strictly better version of {Searing Spear}.

So, while useful, it's not strictly better. Strictly better is for things like {Shock} vs. {Lightning Bolt} or {Raging Goblin} vs. {Mon's Goblin Raiders}.

Personally , I'd rather have the option for removal in most cirumstances.

Regardless {Skullcrack} is a beautiful card, Thraggy is too dominant right now, we need more ways to nerf it, I just hate that damn card.

{Skullcrack} is gonna be a staple sideboard for any deck running red or even splashing it. It stops half of the two most dominant cards in standard right now,   {Thragtusk} and  {Sphinx's Revelation}.
