Modern Deck Help

So next month my LGS is starting Modern tournaments and I would like to have a deck ready.

Here is my problem, I am a recently new buyer of cards. I have played for years with my friends but never had my own stuff until Feburary of this year.

I assoicate with Azorious and control style decks. What is a control style deck in modern?

I know how crazy Jund is right now but I don't expect to see goyfs or confidants at my store for a while.

What kind of budget are you working with? Modern decks can be pretty pricey.  Some good cheaper options are "Restore Balance" and "Death and Taxes," both of which have some decent control aspects and use white.

I have all of the standard pricey U/W staples. I have a good budget to work with and some trade bait that I know I could get 20$ cards like nothing.
