I was wondering how theseable a blue-green mill yourself would be in standard. I've been looking for something to replace my dieing standard deck for a while now.

UG self mill is absolutely unplayable in any form of standard constructive. In casual it is a fun deck to play, but it will not win you anything if your meta is the net decks.

What if it isn't? 

Ug mill can be effective and really scary when it's done right. The only problem is one {nihil spellbomb} screws you over

Check out the standard thread Masticore's Revenge. It's my version Bl/G self mill, although I need to take a look at DA and improve.

How many ways do you want me to screw a UG self mill over to prove my point?

Zh1199

You see that's the thing. It's do bad no one will see it coming. Then next week they sideboard spellbombs and I'm screwed

Ok, I accept that challenge

First of all, I have three decks which I currently have intact: UG humans, tempered steel, UW control (personal build)
For my GW humans, self mill cannot even get started before they die or lose enough board control to the point that they have to do all in their power to simply not get crushed. On turn four, I have hero, crusader, and some one/two drops they have to deal with. Green and blue lack removals to take care of my threats. Blue counterspells do not come up often enough to halt the onslaught. Even if they somehow do, they won't be able to mill themselves in the process.
Tempered steel thrashes anything that can't deal with turn 3 win, especially not some slow deck that requires half a deck gone to function. Even if they do deal with my beginning wave, they will still have to constantly deal with my evasive drops. When they play so defensively, they can't self mill because they have to divulge resources to deal with my threats.
My UW control deck will simply cancel anything important and drop my planeswalkers for game. Even if self mill did somehow drop a spider spawning for 6 on turn 8, I can still day of judgement or respond with my white sun zenith. And this is even before I sideboard........

I have met the burden and proven with 3 ways that an average player can simply disregard self mill from the metagame completely. Let the deck be struck!

You know, I tried to applaud, but I kept dropping my iPhone. ðŸ"±

Well said!  Now if only I can convince you to start using curly brackets so newer players can see the cards your riffling off. Clearly you're not averse to the extra typing. 😜

The deck looks fine. Don't mind any naysayers.

What deck? Is there a deck here, or is it posted elsewhere?
