It's the magic bubble.
And when it bursts, it will be like Chronicles 2. Many prices are absurdly high right now and when they all plummet, there will be a lot of people whining and quitting.

Which is why drafts are the only thing worth doing :) so much fun, so little value

NyghtHawk

If people play magic just for the value of their cards, then they have forgotten its a game.

If all my cards tanked in value I wouldn't quit because I like playing the game and not worrying what my cards are worth.

People would get mad that they just lost $1500 just due to reprints, and because of that, they would probably hate wizards and that would extend to magic.  I know I'd be pissed, but I like the game enough to not quit.
And there will be people right in line to buy those cards at a cheaper value. It comes full circle.

Wizards will reprint what is necessary to keep the game alive. No more, no less.

I wouldn't quit either, but I would be a little upset losing some of the value of my collection. In the long run, I would be happy though, because I would pick up every staple I could find and finally get into legacy.

Ok ok let's stay on topic. Sorry for the hijack. If you want make a new post on this.

How's {snapcaster Mage} and {tarmogoyf} doing?

Also, {misty rainforest} and {scalding tarn} have peaked at $95

what about {verdant catacombs}? just bought one on ebay for 50 bucks.

Galabranth

Verdant is slowly going up reaching $65 at some shops.

Spencer Addington

{spirit of the labyrinth}: do you guys see it going up or down in the days to come?

Because of the impending reprint, do you think it would be a good idea to sell fetches now and buy legacy stuff?

Depends if you want to play modern for the next year. Highly doubt they will be in this upcoming block and more likely in next years. It depends what legacy stuff also, seems safe to invest in reserved list stuff like duals.

/shrug, I'm keeping all my fetches. Even if reprinted they should still be worth more than what I bought/traded them for.

The best time to buy legacy stuff is yesterday...if you aren't using said fetches, it makes sense to dump them for legacy staples

MuggyWuggy

Today is the time to buy shocks

They are the closest thing to duals we will ever see reprinted....

And last time they printed them was about 2006/2007.... Those are gonna sky rocket for eternal formats.

Not eternal formats, just modern.
