General Debate:
Resolved: {day of judgement} is more effective than {honor of the pure} in a mono white deck.

Appleguru56

Do we have supporters for the affirmation?

Chaosquirrel

That would be completely dependent on a few variable but mostly these 3 : Timing, Timing, Timing. In a white control it would be great, but too late in a white agro with a majority of your creatures on the board that honor the pure would be more helpful than nuking the field.

With that stated, would you rather have copies of Honor of the pure of Day of Judgement in your WW deck?

Chaosquirrel

If u have grave digging or indestructibles, day of judgement, but if it's just (trumpet cal) CHARGE! I'd go with honor the pure.

I tend to agree with Chaossquirrel, that comparing these two cards is really a matter of board-state. Obviously in WW you are trying to flood the table so you want to boost the team. What do you do in a mirror match when you are losing a war of attrition?
IMO having a reset button is good because you have the option to use it or not. If you're behind, clean the board. You probably have more creatures coming if you haven't been drawing that many.
If you're ahead and you draw a DoJ it's a dead draw. So? Who cares, you're ahead!

Vs. Control, combo, Undying, RDW I'd say {Honor the Pure} probably.
Vs aggro, heavy creature based, {Day of Judgment}

{Honor the Pure} will not win you any games if you have no creatures. {Day of Judgment} can at least by you time.

I a mono white deck, day of judgement would most likely hinders you since the whole synergy of the deck is to flood the board. Day of judgement goes against the synergy of your deck and will most likely be a dead draw. Even in a mirror match up where you loose the advantage, honor at least makes your creatures that much bigger than theirs.

In all but the most loosing circumstances, honor of the pure will give your deck more of an advantage. And even so, if you are loosing that badly, you probably would not be able to win anyways

Prophylaxis

{Honor of the Pure} main, {Day of Judgement} side.
