Lol yup that's how I feel

I pulled a foil one about a month ago and was like "ah this sucks", was gonna trade it too. Didn't think it was playable, {X}{W}{U}{U} still doesn't strike me as a $25 card. Guess it's just the rarity

I think it's a great card for a u/w control deck. In my experience most of u/w's losses are either because of mana screw or because you run out of cards and have to resort to top decking. Sphinx's revelation solves the latter problem incredibly well, not to mention that the life gain usually puts you out of reach of an aggro deck looking for a burn spell to finish you off. I can't think of many games I revelationed for 4+ and didn't win.

I get it, but why not run {Inspiration} or something? Cheaper, get 2 cards but no life gain. Would appear as if you need more ramp to truly get a positive from it. The card speaks for itself, I run my foil in my deck, it's just never more then a 1-of. Got other sources of card advantage.

I think since RTR, there has been a little more control in all decks except RDW. So games tend to be longer and cards like {Sphinx's Revelation} are more viable.

I've been thinking the opposite. Because of {Thragtusk} I see more and more aggro decks that get in before Thraggy. {B}{R} Zombies has been consistently placing high, Azorius Aggro and Selesnya Aggro. Because of that I find that {Thought Scour}, {Azorius Charm} and {Think Twice} are in more main boards. My {Sphinx's Revelation} is first card I pull out vs. aggro decks, and is really only good vs. another midrange deck. Maybe I'm just not playing it like I should.

I guess it's just whatever meta we live in...at my FNM nearly everyone plays control...games often go to time.
