Heartless Burn Black

60 cards, 4 sideboard

24 {Swamp}

24 lands

4 {Tormented Soul}
4 {Gravecrawler}
4 {Blood Artist}
4 {Vampire Nighthawk}
2 {nefarox, overlord of grixis} - replaced { desecration demon}
(removed {Falkenrath noble} felt slow)

18 creatures

4 {Disentomb} - added for shanigans
3 {Undying Evil} -1
3 {Heartless Summoning} -1
4 {Tragic slip} - replaced {murder}
4 {altar's reap} - replaced {cremate}

18 other spells

4 {mutilate}: answer to aggro decks. Main board?
Sideboard
{desecration demon}: opponent sacing/threat
{griselbrand}: alt win con
possible

Notes:
Update: still holding to the {heartless summoning} wipe for damage and life gain, but added some, better, card draw and back up plan. Also cheaper creature removal. Anymore thoughts? And thank you for all the help guys!

I like the idea. Maybe run  {Disentomb} an  {Tragic Slip}

Redwings1939

How bout you just run alters reap instead if you wanna go this rout?.... Your guys don't really benefit from costing 2 colorless less that much...... Just sac grave crawler with alters reap, they lose life, you gain life and card advantage.... Win win

Zvaughn

Why  {Cremate}? There are other better cards if your using it to draw a card

{tragic slip} is a must, totally missed that. Ill try {disentomb} I don't see any reason not too.
I picked {cremate} because I felt I needed a way to draw cards. What better cards are you thinking of? I've been out of magic for about a year so I'm not sure what's worth using and what's not.

I'm using {heartless summoning} for the    -1/-1. I want to be able to pay 2 mana to wipe my board and do the damage. But I do like {altar's reap} for card advantage, good call.

Mikefrompluto

{Griselbrand} as an alt win con maybe. He can come out two turns earlier, -1/-1 doesn't hurt him all that bad, and he can refill yor hand for free since you'll have {blood artist}s out.

Mikefrompluto

There's also {Nefarox, overlord of grixis} if youre on a budget. While not as effective as GrizzlyBeard, he has exalted so the -1/-1 cancels out, and his ability is great with {blood artist}.

I like the {nefarox, overlord of grixis} not sure about {Grisselbrand} yet.
Made some changes that were suggested but still have no idea for sideboard options, 15 lands maybe? Just so I look like I'm being good and switching out cards

Redwings1939

Mutilate is amazing board wipe with mono black decks.....even kills  industructable creatures , and all the deaths stack with blood artist... With 2 blood artists out and they have 3 creatures ... 20 point swing with 1 card. You gain 10 they lose 10

I also like  {Butcher Ghoul} over  {Tormented Soul}, seems to work more with the theme.

Almosteric

I made a version yesterday. I'll post it for ya.

{butcher ghoul} was in my original design, along with some other zombies but I decided not to go that route. Using undying in this deck feels clunky, atleast to me. I've got {undying evil} only for {blood artist} in case I need to continue pinging my opponent or for saving a creature that is just ripping up the field. {mutilate} seems viable though....
