Guys, guys, guys. It's gonna be okay. Disney owns a crap ton of things that they haven't ruined. Espn, marvel, dreamworks, To name a few.

But this is the Star Wars empire. IS NOTHING SACRED ANYMORE?!?!

But for real though. I wont knock it til i see the results.

If Episode 7 isnt tight b-hole, then we still have the Hobbit movies.

Original trilogy is and will always be sacred. Everything else are just cool things that accidentaly happens in the same universe totally uncanon.
Also in my head the three first episodes are very different and cant be changed for me.

Disney owns Pixar, not DreamWorks.

Can't be any worse than ep. 1
Pod race was the only savior of that one.

Please resurrect jar jar

I'm with Rass. Now that Disney owns their own galaxy far, far away, I would like to see a greater emphasis on characters that have been given a back seat in the land speeder. Jar Jar brought a richness of character and depth of humor that can never be matched by the sardonic edge of Han Solo  or even the gently mocking tenderness of Princess Leia. Perhaps episode 7 could follow the gungans as they carve their own nitch in the new republic. Or even take us into a future where Jar Jar is the new model for republic clone troopers. Certainly, the other characters could cameo but I am excited about the potential for more gungantics. If you will.

Good idea maybe we can visit chewboccas home planet or revisit the ewoks.

Hooray! We will never have to suffer another George Lucas film! I wanna dance like they did on Endor, when the brutal empire that reigned for...17 years... was finally brought down!

Additionally, Disney made a billion dollars turning an amusement park ride into a film series (Pirates of the Caribbean). The billions they can make off Toys, Videogames (which they've also taken far more seriously, even tasking SquareEnix to design games) proves they have a certain commitment to their intellectual properties. That being said, this could mean an actual Disney BluRay treatment of the original Starwars trilogy (without the lame Lucas edits) and even a new Prequel saga involving Disney's special FX house and actual sets! Maybe even hire a decent director.

At $4 billion I wonder what they even bought. Did they get LucasFilm catalog of Starwars films? Or the rights to the characters in the film. It seems like LucasFilm brings in at least $300 million annually, no? Seems like a sound investment, unless LucasFilm has damaged the Starwars brand too much over the years. Still, with Disney Channel and kid oriented programming that this high time for a refresh and a series of cartoon shows. ABC can even support a prime time live action Star Wars drama, or one of their affiliates.

It's a good time to be a Star Wars fan (which ironically i am not), because its finally out of the hands of the plundering hack George Lucas.

They got everything under the Lucas brand:  Industrial Light & Magic, Skywalker Sound,THX, etc.  They EVERYTHING to EVERYTHING Lucas has done, including but not limited to Indiana Jones, Star Wars, and Howard the Duck (which they probably had partially due to their purchase of Marvel).  4B was actually quite cheap when you look at everything that Lucas owns.  At least, to me.

Mikefrompluto

Dang, so they got THX 1138 too? One of my favorite films.
